As reported earlier, all subsidiaries of SK Innovation (SK Energy, SK Geo Centric, SK On, SK Lubricants, SK IE Technology, SK Incheon Petrochem, SK Trading International, and SK Earthon) are actively supporting Busan’s bid for the 2030 World Expo. Besides promotional programs at home ground such as setting the media wall at Seoul headquarters, the electronic signboard at the Jeju World Cup Stadium, etc., SK Innovation is also earnestly taking part in overseas activities to back Busan’s bid.

In August, SK Innovation Vice Chairman Kim Jun held a meeting with the Polish Minister of Economic Development and Technology Waldemar Grzegorz Buda in Warsaw to ask for support from the Polish government for Busan’s hosting of the 2030 World Expo. As a representative of the company’s top management, Vice Chairman Kim Jun will continue to meet global key figures to accelerate the supporting activities for Busan’s bid.

The top management’s genuine effort to back Busan World Expo 2030 has led by example, inspiring the other members of the company to take interest in the event and involve in the campaign. Through the Global Communication Coordinators, who promote communication to connect SK Innovation’s global business sites and the headquarters, the company’s self-designed promotional material for Busan’s bid for the World Expo 2030 was delivered to SK Innovation’s members across the world. On top of that, 15 business sites of the company in and outside Korea made the supporting banners in multiple languages and gathered to take group photos to cheer for the bid.

Moreover, on October 21, SK Earthon (a subsidiary of SK Innovation), conducted a company-wide “EnviRun for the Earth”* plogging activity that aimed to improve the local environment while also promoting the Busan’s bid for hosting World Expo 2030. CEO of SK Earthon Myeong Seong and members of the company who participated in the event all wore special group T-shirts and used stickers that showed SK’s support for Busan’s bid while engaging in the plogging activities. Started with Korea Headquarters, this event is also joined by the other overseas branches of the company including such as Lima (Peru), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), and Shenzhen (China).
