SK Geo Centric CEO Na Kyung-soo, along with other leaders of the company, is reported to have participated in SK Innovation’s company-wide campaign “EnviRun for the Earth” (“EnviRun” in short) with SKGC Americas members during his trip to the States in the second week of July.
EnviRun is a representative ESG program of SK Innovation to protect the environment by encouraging the company’s members to pick up trash, especially plastic waste, around their working places, homes, or public areas. Started in early 2021, the program was scaled up to a national program in South Korea by the end of last year and has been joined by many global sites of SK Innovation affiliates recently, including Poland, Vietnam, China, Hungary, Singapore, Peru, etc.
The plogging event of SKGC Americas this time is the first participation of a subsidiary in the States in EnviRun campaign. On July 11 (US local time), a total of 19 people, including SK Geo Centric CEO Na Kyung-soo, Head of Packaging Division Jang Nam-hun, President of SKGC Americas Choi Min-ho, and members of SKGC Americas gathered at Surfside Beach located near the company’s Freeport plant, to do plogging.

CEO Na, who believes that “Eco-friendliness starts from even small actions and practices,” is one of the first leaders among SK Innovation affiliates that first took part in plogging activity. Since last year, he has done plogging 17 times in total, personally and with the company members, became a leading example for the other members to follow in practicing eco-friendly habits.
For the EnviRun this time, SKGC Americas prepared a plogging package consisting of hats, badges, and social enterprise Usisan’s towels made of eco-friendly polyester, which was recycled from waste PET.

In addition, President of SKGC Americas Cho Min-ho shared that “EnviRun is meaningful in not only environmental aspect but also cultural aspect, for it shows the One Team Spirit of our members.” “Starting with the plogging activity this time, we will continue to expand EnviRun campaign in conjunction with the upcoming Beach Clean Up Day event that brings local agencies, citizens, and students together. This year, we will establish our own social contribution program to grow and solve problems together with the local community,” he added.
After the plogging activity, CEO Na visited SK Primacor Americas facilities to meet and encourage local members in person. He also conducted a workshop for SKGC Americas members to enhance their happiness and build a stronger bond between the top management and local employees.
