On April 21st (local time), SK Earthon Hochiminh Branch (hereafter SKEO HCM) took part in plogging activities in Vietnam. With this participation, SKEO HCM has become the first among SK Innovation’s overseas business sites to join the “EnviRun for the Earth” (hereafter EnviRun) Plogging Week initiated by the company this year. Despite the sweltering weather that hit 38°C (100℉), 20 members and leaders of the Branch picked up trash while walking around Notre Dame Cathedral, April 30th Park, Saigon Central Post Office, which are all nearby their office in District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

EnviRun is the English name of SK Innovation’s Plogging Campaign started in 2021 to enhance environmental awareness among the company’s members. This year, the company expands the scope of the campaign by holding EnviRun Plogging Week from April 18th to 29th. During the Plogging Week, SK Innovation members working in-and-outside Korea will join the campaign by engaging in plogging activities around their offices, plants, and living areas. Among the foreign business sites, SKEO HCM is the first organization participating in the EnviRun Plogging Week this year. Aside from this campaign, SKEO HCM plans to take part in other ESG activities as well to spread SK’s positive influence to the locals.

SK Innovation officials mentioned that despite the short preparation time, SKEO HCM has successfully organized the event by conveying the meaning of plogging and the importance of taking social responsibilities to members of the company right after the announcement of Plogging Week from Headquarters.

Following SKEO HCM, on Earth Day (April 22nd), SK IE Technology’s Polish subsidiary SK Hi-Tech Battery Materials Poland (SKBMP) is going to hold a large-scale plogging event participated by company employees, leaders, and representatives of local government.

In the second week of the Plogging Week, more global business sites of SK Innovation will join the campaign, not to mention the domestic affiliates.
