Q1. We heard that you are a multi-instrumentalist, so what can you play and how did you learn them?

I can play guitar and drums well, and also piano at some certain level. I had been in a school band from middle school to college, for about 10 years. I started with drums, and then I wanted to learn guitar as well. So, I followed our guitarist for a while to learn the basic skills. Since then, I have self-taught myself. About piano, I had taken piano lessons for 3 years when I was in elementary school.

Q2. What is your most favorite instrument among the ones you are playing?

Since I was a child, I have been a huge fan of Linkin Park, and I found the drummer really cool. I dreamed of becoming a musician while listening to Linkin Park, and I started attending a practical music academy to learn playing drums. That’s why until now, of all the instruments that I can play, drums are my most favorite.

Q3. Playing in a band in 10 years must have brought a significant meaning to your life?

Yes, of course. When I was an undergraduate student, there was no band in my department, so I had to make one myself and became the leader. While playing in that band, I was able to meet some amazing friends, and became more sociable and outgoing. The band activities indeed turned me into a person with higher self-esteem and more confidence.

Q4. Are you still playing for a band now?

Actually it is not easy for us to gather at the moment due to the current COVID-19 sitatuon. Also, one of my band members hasn’t graduated yet, so our dream of playing a band as a whole group of office workers hasn’t come true. But I still play guitar alone at home or in a school yard on a fine day to relieve stress.

Q5. Whom would you like to recommend band activities? Isn’t it hard to play in a band while keeping up with your tasks at work?

I recommend band activities to those who want to try a new hobby or play musical instruments. But, above all, band activities give you an opportunity to be a team player, so you can make a band of your own with your close friends. I’ve heard that there is a band in our company, which I would like to join when the pandemic ends.

Q6. Do you have any message to everyone who read/view this?

Even though we are facing many obstacles due to COVID-19, let’s cheer up together. Whether it is music or sports, I hope you can find a leisure activity that fits you well and gives you energy to be happier.
