SK Global Chemical is participating in Chinaplas 2021 held in Shenzhen, China, from April 13 (local time) to 16 to reinforce its global marketing activities. This is part of the company’s effort to establish a virtuous plastic circulation system based on biodegradable/recycled plastic business, packaging and automotive businesses – the core high value-added ones.
Chinaplas 2021 is a chance for SK Global Chemical to not only introduce its eco-friendly, high value-added business strategies that are promoted from the perspective of ESG management, but also discover potential customers through communication with the global market.
Celebrating its 34th anniversary this year, Chinaplas is the biggest plastic exhibition in Asia and is recognized as one of the global top 3 plastic shows along with NPE of the U.S. and K-fair of Germany. Last year Chinaplas was canceled due to the spread of the COVID-19. This year, the event is conducted not only offline but also partly online through various live streaming sessions, attracting over 3,600 companies from about 50 countries across the world.

Under the major theme “Green for Better Life”, SK Global Chemical presents its products according to three categories: ▲biodegradable/recycled plastic ▲high value-added packaging, and ▲automotive lightweight materials.
SK Global Chemical is focusing on expanding eco-friendly business with the goal of establishing a plastic circulation system, taking the lead in solving the problem of waste plastics. The company has been making various efforts, such as making new plastic products by recycling waste plastics, developing eco-friendly/high value-added products that are easy to recycle, and reducing plastic usage by producing high-functional products.
At its booth at Chinaplas 2021, SK Global Chemical prepared a Highlight Zone that shows the company’s 6 representative eco-friendly products with detailed information. There is also a green product experience space to help visitors understand SK Global Chemical’s eco-friendly business and products better.

At Packaging Zone and Automotive Zone, visitors can check SK Global Chemical’s high value-added packaging materials and lightweight automotive materials developed in accordance with the company’s 3R (Recycle/Reduce/Replace) strategy.
Packaging Zone presents PET bottles that are easy to be recycled with both caps and packaging made of the same plastic material, eco-friendly PE Wraps that are jointly made by SK Global and Cleanwrap, etc. SK Global Chemical has concentrated on developing eco-friendly packaging products with a focus on building the circular economy of waste plastic via the reduction and recycling of plastic waste.
In addition, SK Global Chemical introduced the high-functional polymer business and flagship products that it had acquired from Arkema in France last year in the Packaging Zone. The representative brands include LOTRYL, LOTADER, OREVAC, EVATANE, etc. The high-performance polymer manufacturing technology owned by SKGC was selected as the “national core technological asset” in 2020 by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy in recognition of its value in helping the nation to achieve a competitive advantage in the field of material business.
*LOTRYL: a high value-added adhesive material with an excellent processability and heat-resistance. Applied to automotive engineering plastics, wires, etc.
*LOTADER: a high value-added material with an outstanding adhesion. Used for a variety of packaging materials and as an impact modifier for the engineering plastics in automotive parts, etc.
*OREVAC: a high value-added material excellent in processability and adhesion, utilized for food packaging, pipe coating, etc.
*EVATANE: a functional adhesive material great in elasticity and adhesion. Used for wires and food packaging, etc.

At the Automotive Zone, visitors can meet products such as HCPP and rTOP. These are the products that match with the rapidly growing EV market. HCPP is mainly used as the interior and exterior materials for cars, and it reduces the content of plastics by about 10% compared to normal polypropylene. Therefore, it is effective in improving fuel efficiency and decreasing air pollutants.
*HCPP: a high-performance, lightweight material used for vehicles and industrial materials for its excellent durability and safety.
*rTPO: a material featured by ultrahigh impact resistance. As it can effectively absorb an external impact, it is applied to automobiles, building materials, etc.
