On December 30, SK Incheon Petrochem, a subsidiary of SK Innovation, announced that it was awarded the prize for institution/organization of the 10th Donation for Education Awards of Korea, hosted by the Korea’s Ministry of Education and sponsored by the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity.
Since the beginning of the company in 2013, SK Incheon Petrochem has developed and provided the talent development program based of the operation system cored by mentoring, activities, and teaching. The company was applauded that it has contributed to foster people with talents with the program.
SK Incheon Petrochem has held various educational programs including the Study Mentoring, where the local university students become mentors for the students in the local households in crisis, as well as the Human Book Mentoring program, the Science/Media Camp, etc.
The company also opened sports classes for children with developmental disabilities, the Forest for Environment and Ecosystem program, the School Day program through which local students are invited to professional baseball games, and many other classes to foster the potentials and capabilities of the students, such as Enjoyable Science classes, Energy Classes, Job Experience Classes, etc.
Since 2020, the company has been continuing its effort for education programs by developing online programs in consideration of the Covid-19 situation.
SK Incheon Petrochem’s Head of Management Innovation Hong Uk-pyo said, “We will strive to continue the social contribution activities in education part so the local students can experience a lot in various ways, helping their future dreams come true.”
