A New Future Made by All Together

 
Dear Respected Members of SKIET!
 

The morning of 2023, the Year of Gyemyo (Black Rabbit), has begun. Happy New Year, and all good wishes to you in 2023.

 

I feel as if it was yesterday when I became the new CEO of SKIET last December, but it has already been my second month to be with you. Though it was not very long, I feel that I have already become a part of SKIET, a big family that shares and strives to reach a common goal.

 

SKIET has become the global number one company in the LiBS industry only by its potential and endeavor, and it makes me very proud. There have been so many achievements that are unmatched among other competitors, like pioneering the LiBS market in Korea, the successful establishment of global manufacturing sites, the attraction of investment through initial public offering (IPO), and many more.

 

Nevertheless, last year gave us many unprecedented challenges, such as prolonged COVID-19, geopolitical issues, global recession, etc. I deeply understand your hardships and concerns, and I do feel the same way. That is one of the reasons I feel grave responsibility as a new CEO who has to lead the company in such a difficult time.

 

2023 is also expected to be a bumpy year because of continuing crises and unpredictable changes. However, I do believe even these crises and changes can be opportunities if we can manage them well with our capabilities bolstered by our experience and know-hows.

 
Dear Respected Members,
 

2023 will be the year that we will build the foundation for our new future. For this, with all your help and support, I am going to make SKIET a company like the following:

 
First, I want to have SKIET “recognized” as it is by the stakeholders.
 

I believe our company has enough competitiveness and potential to create more corporate value and happiness. We’ve seen it in the process of the company’s growth, and it will continuously play its role as the solid foundation for a new future.

 

It is important to be consistently recognized and trusted by the stakeholders to realize corporate value and happiness. “Our customers” should be our first and the fundamental answer. It is an essential assignment to expand our customer portfolio, and this is a crucial task that will determine our future. To make it possible, we should be capable of delivering “values” to our customers in various ways, including technology, cost, global supply chain, etc. We can make this happen only when the whole company, including not only the R&D part but all the other parts and functions, moves as one systematically.

 
Second, I want SKIET to drive forward toward the future organically as “one body,” where all members think of others and the company as one team.
 

To create more corporate value, all the parts and functions in the company, including the R&D, have to be united and move toward the same direction for the company, rather than just considering the fulfillment of its own performance or objectives. In addition, for the members, each one of you should consider the impact of your job, execute your tasks, and make necessary decisions while considering the company’s direction.

 

Uninterrupted communication among the members is critical for us to move as one. Once we share what we know, want, and concern among organizations and individuals without any barrier, we can finally figure out solutions for all and execute them to overcome any issues and challenges. I, as the CEO, am also going to have time to share sincere thoughts with you about the direction of the company frequently.

 
Last but not least, I want SKIET to have a “distinct corporate culture.”
 

In 2023, alongside with establishing a more concrete strategy direction for the company and executing it, I would like to establish the company’s unique identity and corporate culture that can support the direction. We need our own ways of working, including data-driven decision-making, seamless communication, keen contemplation, healthy debates, determinations that lead to the actual result, etc. Let’s draw out a corporate culture suitable to the company together through communication and the collection of opinions.

 

Dear Everyone,

 

Beginning the new year of 2023, we are on the starting line toward a new future. It is true that we are currently facing a hardship like ferocious winter. However, if we stick together and move together, I am sure big success and happiness will be waiting for us all at our destination. I am grateful that I am one of the members of this company and that I can join this journey with you. With responsibility bearing in my mind, I will lead the way for the company.

 

I am soon going to prepare an occasion where I can share my thoughts and feelings with you and listen to you.

 

This year, I hope happy news fills your heart with joy in this New Year.
