“Grape Lab,” an environmentally friendly social venture that transforms the world with sustainable designs, opened an exhibition booth in Web Summit 2022, Europe’s largest technology conference, held from November 1 to 4 in Lisbon, Portugal, and participated in the local Accelerator (AC) programs. Grape Lab took this event as an opportunity to attract impact investment to explore the global market, including Europe and the United States, meet with local partners, and discuss establishing a local corporation.

The Web Summit first commenced in Dublin, Ireland in 2009, and has been held in Lisbon annually since 2016. It is the most distinguished technology conference in Europe, also called the World Cup for startups for its prominence, and dubbed “the best technology conference on the planet” by the American business magazine Forbes. Every year, more than 70,000 participants from 160 countries attend the event.

Grape Lab nurtured and supported by SK Innovation, utilizes sugarcane, coconut, leftover magazines, and other materials to create attractively designed products such as diaries, laptop stands, book stands, shopping bags, and more.

The eco-friendly venture unveiled its technology-based smart device accessory lineup at Web Summit 2022 and was selected as an impact startup, further enhancing its level of global competitiveness. During the event, Grape Lab also engaged in a variety of network-building activities, including meetings with international investors, accelerators, partners, B2B businesses, etc.. In addition, the venture was interviewed by METROPOLE, a prominent media outlet in Brazil.

While the competition in the smart device accessory market is becoming increasingly fierce globally, the market still boasts an enormous scale. There are almost no impact startups that create eco-friendly device accessories with brand-new ideas. Meanwhile, Grape Lab continues to launch a variety of innovative products, including smart device accessories.

Based on folding techniques, Grape Lab strives for “smaller products for a bigger world” and aspires to be a brand that promotes a smaller, lighter, and more sustainable lifestyle. In addition, as a design enterprise with exceptional ideas, it has sharpened its competitive edges by acquiring over 35 global technology patents, design patents, and trademarks.

Europe is a particularly alluring market for Grape Lab, as it is keenly attentive toward environmental and social impact. Grape Lab took part in and was selected as “What’s New” at Maison&Objet Paris, a French interior decor exhibition held last September. The company is gaining more attention in the European market, being longlisted for awards by Dezeen, a prominent architecture and design magazine based in the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the social venture exported its products to Dell Technologies Italy, the United States, and others, with further exports planned for France and Italy.

Grape Lab has also discussed its penetration into Italy and completed market tests with Pininfarina, a company well-known for designing Ferrari automobiles, with over 700 online and offline stores in Italy. As such, the company continues its rigorous venture to explore the European market.

Grape Lab demonstrates the value of sustainable design while solidifying its position in the global market. Attracting more recognition on the global stage, Grape Lab carries on to produce items such as eco-friendly smart device accessories with stylish and appealing designs, along with its goal to thrive as an enterprise that delivers global social impact.
