SK IE Technology (hereafter, SKIET), the material business subsidiary of SK Innovation, announced that it held The 3rd Third Annual General Meeting of Shareholders at SUPEX Hall, SK Building, Jongno-gu, Seoul, on the 28th.
“SK IE Technology is trying to establish a rapid growth portfolio as a Global Top Tier Material Company by sophisticating the world-class separator business and producing significant outcomes in new businesses, such as FCW (Flexible Cover Window),” said Roh Jae-sok, CEO of SKIET, at the annual general meeting of shareholders.
He added, “For the LiBS (Lithium-ion Battery Separator) business, the company has secured three business sites, the latest one in Silesia Province in Poland after one in Changzhou in China and the other in Jeungpyeong, Chungbuk Province, Korea. In particular, the plant in Poland has enabled us to set up a foundation to prepare for the rapidly growing Electric Vehicle (EV) market in Europe. And we will enhance our position in the global market based on our expanded production capacity in the future.”
He continued, “In terms of the FCW business, we have built a foundation for growth in preparation for the future expansion of the market. And we are continuously reviewing and pushing forward with new business areas, with consideration of competitiveness of the separator business and relevance to technologies, for diversifying the company’s business portfolio.”
In the annual general meeting of shareholders, new nominations were made for Kim Jun as Non-Executive Director, Roh Jae-sok as Executive Director, and Ahn Jin-ho as Non-Executive Director by approval of shareholders with suffrage.
For Non-Executive Director Kim Jun (Vice Chairman & CEO of SK Innovation), he was highly regarded for his capability and expertise to draw out innovative outcomes under the “Carbon to Green” Strategy, which is promoted in all subsidiaries of SK Innovation. Executive Director Roh Jae-sok was recognized for his insight and expertise as a CEO who elevated SKIET to a top-tier corporation in the global wet-laid battery separator market.
There was an appointment of a new Non-Executive Director. Non-Executive Director Ahn Jin-ho is an incumbent Materials Science and Engineering professor at Hanyang University and has carried out his position as an advisor for SKIET’s management faithfully based on his expertise in the materials field. He is expected to make a contribution to the corporation’s management centered on the board of directors.
In addition, as the interests of shareholders and SKIET’s management coincided in the meeting, the stock option was granted to CEO Roh Jae-sok to maximize the mid- to long-term corporate value. Apart from those items, approval of the financial statement, amendments to the articles of incorporation, and approval of ceiling on directors’ remuneration were passed as in their original bills.
