Kim Jun, CEO of SK Innovation, has set out to secure key global talent in the United States.
Kim Jun, CEO of SK Innovation, hosted the 2019 SK Global Forum on June 15 (local time) in Jersey City located near Hudson River in the U.S. eastern state of New Jersey, and met with global talent in the energy and chemical sectors.

SK Group is solidifying its network with the world’s top talent, believing that the global competitiveness of a company depends on securing professional competence with technical skills. To this end, the group has held the SK Global Forum every year since 2012.
Now in its eighth year, the SK Global Forum invited the U.S. experts in SK’s core growth engines, such as energy, chemicals, ICT, semiconductor, and bio, to share SK Group’s growth strategies and discuss the latest technologies and global market trends. On this occasion, SK also sought to discover and recruit talent.
The 2019 SK Global Forum, held on June 15, 2019, was attended by some 50 top executives from SK and its affiliates, including SK Innovation CEO Kim Jun, as well as more than 300 experts from global companies, academia, and research institutes in the U.S.

SK Innovation CEO Kim Jun, who hosted the eastern forum in Jersey City, New Jersey, explained that SK Innovation has proactively changed its growth strategy in response to changes in the business. He also shared the vision and key focus of each business
The rest of the forum was follwed by 8 discussion sessions with various topics, such as next-generation batteries, technology trends of the energy storage system (ESS), future automotive material development and packaging recyclability, and the trends and outlook of carbon dioxide reduction technology.

The local experts who attended the forum not only shared their expertise by making presentations or leading panel discussions but also actively communicated with management. In addition, participants who joined the sessions through advance application engaged in heated discussions.
SK Group, including SK Innovation, will continue to develop the SK Global Forum that has become a networking platform to “secure global talent” and “strengthen cooperation and sharing in various business areas,” which are essential for the group’s deep change.
